What Wachiman is
Advisory pull request reviews, with findings on their lines and the merge decision left to you.
Wachiman runs a reviewing agent in your own GitHub Actions with your own model API key, and never approves, requests changes or blocks a merge. Each inline finding has two labels: Blocker, Fix or Consider says when to act; a topic such as bug, docs or security says what it concerns. Information that asks for no reply goes in the review body. Claude Code is the default agent; a Codex adapter is available from the CLI only, while its workflow integration is pending.
Two questions come before installing: whether you trust it with a key, which Before you give it a key answers, and what it costs, which What it costs answers. Install Wachiman follows from there.
Severity
Section titled “Severity”Severity tells you when to act. Each finding also carries a topic such as bug, docs or security, which says what it concerns. The labels below are abbreviated: in a review the severity and topic appear together, for example “Fix · bug”, with a symbol for each.
- 🔴 Blocker
- Fix before merging: the reviewer can name the input, state or trust boundary that fails. Still advice.
- 🟠 Fix
- Wrong today; fix it in this pull request. It does not block the merge.
- 🟡 Consider
- Would be better; you may decline.
Severity is advice about when to act. Even Blocker holds no authority: nothing is gated while a finding is open.
